Nestled in the heart of the breathtaking Slanghoek Valley, Opstal Estate Restaurant is proudly run by a dedicated family team, Marc and Nicolé Burt. With sweeping views of the surrounding mountain range, every visit promises not only a memorable meal but a truly special setting.

The Slanghoek Valley must be one of the most beautiful ‘nature gems’ in South Africa. The Opstal accommodation is perfectly situated to enjoy and appreciate the valley. The accommodation is modern, well appointed and designed to take the natural surroundings against the mountain into account. Our accommodation, ‘Lady Ansie’ is airy and open, yet still private. It felt that all our needs were catered for.. from wifi (sufficient for streaming) to wood, wine, etc. The staff were very efficient, very friendly and very attentive to our needs or requests.

Opstal is not only situated in a ‘nature gem’, but also a gem for their hospitality.

In one word: stunning!! We couldn’t believe how everything came together to be the most perfect day we could ever imagine. It was 40 degrees, a beautiful day and the mountains surrounding the venue are majestic! We fell in love the day we saw them. The food was delicious, the speeches were outstanding and we danced the night away with our closest friends and family, enjoying champagne and wine from the farm. We would do anything to do it all over again!

Just wanted a two day get away for some peace and quiet; was not disappointed. Stayed in “The Barber”. Self catering; but did order some meals from the restaurant, which were very tasty. Great staff. Completely painless to book online. Will definitely go again.
