Food

All our units are self-catering. Unless you ordered a “meal basket”, you will need to pack your own meals and ingredients. If you are unsure what appliances are in the units, please visit our units To view and order a meal basket, click here.

Wood

Wood is available at your unit - 2 bags are
complimentary, every additional bag opened/used will be charged. You are welcome
to bring your own wood/charcoal if you prefer to do so (please only use wood for the
tubs, do not use charcoal).

Checking in

Your host will send you a message before arrival, please contact her if needed.

Check in is open 14h00 - 17h00 Please collect your key from our wine tasting counter, you will be directed to your unit.

Checking in after 17h00? Your key will be placed in a lock box, your host will send the instructions on how you can retrieve it.

Checking out

Check out is strictly 10h00, a late check out fee will be charged at the discretion of management.

When you are ready to depart, ensure that all windows and doors are locked. Please place your towels in the bath / shower. Kindly hand in your key at the restaurant on your way out. If you forgot to hand in your key, please contact us in order to make arrangements.

You are welcome to leave cash in the Honesty Jar for any extra wood used, wine purchased from the unit or any breakages. Alternatively we will confirm
usages/breakages and WhatsApp you a payment link for the final amount, you can settle the invoice via EFT or credit card.

There is limited/no signal reception on the property. The best is to connect to the Wifi (the units all have Wifi as well as the Restaurant).

Activities on the Farm

Trekkertrein

Opstal Estate now offers this unique way to experience the beauty of our farm.

You’ll embark on a sightseeing tractor ride through the vineyards in a fruit bin, which includes a stop for a delicious picnic (prepared by Opstal Eat) in our pretty peach orchard. This experience is great for you romantic couples out there, families looking for an outing or as a year-end or team building event.

Includes a ride around the estate and a picnic for two in the vineyards.

*Bookings are essential info@opstal.co.za and need to be made 2 days in advance. Maximum 12 pax per ride. Remember to purchase your refreshments at Opstal before departure. Your tractor train experience from departure to arrival including the picnic is approxamitely 2 hours.

We have a walking trail close to the accommodation, your host will explain where the map and starting point is.
